International companies decided to enter in different countries worldwide by establishing subsidiaries. These subsidiaries could be a representative office of the headquarters or a full fledge subsidiary with all competencies. In most of the cases companies decided in advance which positions in the subsidiary should be hold by an expatriate and for which positions a local employee would be the best solution. In case of an expatriate, the companies do have several alternatives starting from a local foreigner employee in the market of the host country, a local foreigner employee from the host company, a manager from the headquarters, a manager from the international organization (from the group, but from another country than the host country or headquarters) or from the international open market (others than the host country). The possible modalities and the implications of the choice are the major issues of this paper. This paper approaches the important topics that international companies should consider by the selection of an expatriate for an international subsidiary. The existed bibliography was used in the research for this paper as well as a specific survey with over 20 heads of global human resources from multinational companies were considered. The performed survey indicated that international companies are not considering all relevant points for the selection of an expatriate for this job - as recommended by the bibliography -, regarding the way of assessment, training, targets, and performance appraisal process, etc....
This study investigates the impact of green talent management on green performance, focusing on the mediating roles of green organizational culture and green organizational citizenship behavior. Data were collected from employees of Saudi Arabia’s travel agencies, and 1276 valid responses were analyzed using partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM). The findings indicate that green talent management positively influences green performance, green organizational culture, and green organizational citizenship behavior. Additionally, the study demonstrates that green organizational culture and citizenship behavior positively affect green performance and mediate the relationship between green talent management and green performance. This research addresses a gap in the literature on tourism and hospitality, human resources management, and organizational behavior by empirically examining these relationships within Saudi Arabia travel agencies. The purpose of this research is to establish the impact of the independence and expertise of the Audit Committee (CA) on the reporting of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) information for companies in the global automotive and truck manufacturing sector, as well as its inluence on the ESG reporting on compliance with the Global Reporting Guidelines (GRI), in view of the global environmental objectives for the 2050 agenda. For this analysis, a sample of 224 public companies in this ield, legal entities with global operations, was extracted from the Reinitiv Eikon database for the period 2019- 2022. At the same time, the study also includes the analysis of the reports of several companies representing globally recognized brands. The rationale for selecting this industry was based on the fact that this sector is characterized by complex supply networks, strict environmental laws and high standards of social responsibility. The results show a signiicant positive effect of the independence of the audit committees on the level of compliance with the GRI guidelines, indicating the favorable effect of its attributes on the quality of ESG reporting. Our empirical analysis further highlights the critical role of members of the CA'sinancial experts in improving the scope and level of CSR assurance. The paper validates the signiicance of the management control mechanism in creating the quality and quantity of ESG information for an environmentally sensitive sector and makes a signiicant contribution to understanding and improving ESG reporting practices in this industry....
This study examined the role of green entrepreneurial self-efficacy (GESE) through the lens of dynamic capabilities in innovation and adaptation. The research model postulated a relationship between the reconfiguration of entrepreneurial capabilities necessary to achieve a sustainable business model in the market. A structured questionnaire was adopted, validated, and disseminated among 917 entrepreneurs in Spain and Portugal (Iberian Peninsula). The findings confirmed a significant positive effect of dynamic capabilities on green and sustainable entrepreneurial intentions, mediated by self-efficacy. The study’s results indicate significant relationships between the capabilities studied, and that innovation and adaptation capabilities influence green entrepreneurial self-efficacy. These results are fundamental in guiding the market towards business models that need to be reconfigured to generate value through social impact. We offer management implications for organizations, academics, and other stakeholders, such as policymakers, so that the needs of the green market in the Iberian Peninsula can be met more efficiently....
